Description
1951 Vincent Black Shadow Series C 998cc. Exceptionally original throughout and looks marvellous with buckets of character. In very rare original condition having not been fully restored unlike the majority of Black Shadows out there. The frame, engine and crank case numbers have been checked by a Vincent expert and the VOC and are confirmed to be all matching & original stampings. It also retains its original transferable registration ( LYW 755).
Despatched to Humphrey’s of London on the 19th of May 1951. The last owner of this example had owned the bike for 60 years before coming into our possession . The Vincent has just been sympathetically and carefully recommissioned for future use . The only cosmetics that needed attention were the petrol tank which has been professionally restored, seat recovered and new wiring loom fitted. To note it's also been fitted with stainless steel rims and spokes at some point.
The Speedo was rebuilt in 1966 and now shows only 1088 miles ! Comes with lots of paperwork including old green card continuation log book, V5C, riders handbook, instruction manual, spares lists, Conway receipts, etc and original rear panier rack and handlebar mirror; ( not fitted ).
The bike starts, runs and rides very well with a smooth & powerful motor. It is very rare to find a Shadow now that’s in this original condition that hasn’t been restored or molested !
A very rare find ! Serious offers near the asking price considered ...
