Description

1967 Norton 650SS 650cc with matching numbers. Fully restored around 7 years ago and still in fantastic condition. The only part of the bike that could do with a refurb is the rear wheel rim which would benefit from a re chrome. Mechanically in very good order having only covered a handful of miles since the rebuild. Starts easily with the single carb conversion. Comes with good history and is Mot and Tax exempt. A beautiful machine and a great investment.

Newly fitted indicators and rewired, moving the ignition switch from the awkward place between the top of the oil tank and dual seat to a sensible location between the speedo and rev counter. Also noted that the Boyer ignition was using the two 12v coils in series rather than two 6v coils recommended for high compression engines. So I corrected that replacing the HT leads and plug caps at the same time. (That’s the problem with being an electrical engineer, I like things as near to spot on as I can make them!)

I have also fitted a new battery and rear chain, along with mirrors which I cannot ride without. Whilst I was at it I sorted the grimy full width hubs which now look pretty good.
