Description
1973 Honda CB750 K2. In nice original condition. Sympathetically rebuilt over the last two years. Starts runs and rides very well. Work includes:
• Complete strip-down.
• Frame, swing arm, brackets, battery box, electrical hangers, side-stand, chainguard etc powder coated.
• Frame (with lower crank case in place) taken to Maidstone MotoLiner for frame straightening (they fit in classics around WSB and BSB frame and wheel repairs).
• Full rebuild with new parts:
o Tubes and tyres
o Gaskets and seals, washers etc
o Oil filter
o UK Handlebars
o Fork seals
o Black/ silver number plate
o Cam chain roller
o Exhaust muffler rubbers and stand (side and centre) rubber stops
o Fuel cap packing
o Fuel tap seal
o Swing arm collar (spindle and journal bearings ok)
o Clutch lifter plate
o Master brake cylinder kit
o Clutch cable, throttle cable and upper brake hose all to match UK bars
o UK tail light
o Headlight
o Seat cover and trim
o Points, condensers, plugs, coils and HT leads (had become stiff with poor connections)
o Final drive chain (sprockets ok).
o Headset bearing balls (bearing surfaces ok)
o Air filter and seal, air-box to carb tubes (originals had become brittle).
o Replacement replica centre-stand
o Ignition switch holder (had been relocated to handlebars in US).
Valves/ guides, pistons/ rings all within Honda specs and appear consistent with the 27, 000 miles shown (but no guarantee as to accuracy of milage).
Petrol tank internals ‘usable’, pitted but cleaned and rust-treated but not coated. Previous (poor quality) tank coating fell away in the process of rust removal. Additional in-line fuel filters added – has not suffered from blocked jets.
Hairline crack to R side panel – glued and stable
Paintwork looks original (Brier Brown) – some scuffs and minor dents to tank.
Exhausts are new replicas fitted in US.
Has after-market US chrome clock shrouds fitted – one can be removed to reveal good original black finish the other remains stubbornly immobile so both left in place.
