| The bike was imported from the US by the dealer I bought it from. It had a seized engine and a disintegrating "CHiPs" fairing, it looked as though it had stood outside for a long time. The bike was completely stripped down. The engine was entrusted to vintage Honda experts D&M Engineering who not only did the usual re-bore with new bearings and seals, but also sourced a brand new (old stock) genuine crank shaft. Additionally, they engineered an oil feed to the central cam shaft bearing as Honda saw fit to only provide lubrication to two of the three bearings. The exhausts are NOS genuine Honda. Carbs stripped and rebuilt with new seals etc. Wheels are original with new bearings. Forks are original with newly re-chromed tubes. The frame was found to be sound although it has been re-sprayed and modern stem bearings fitted. The frame remains completely stock and has not been cut or altered. Shocks replaced with new Hagon units. A second hand cb360 seat has been fitted. A new, custom wiring loom was made to accommodate the the modern regulator / rectifier and digital speedo/rev counter. New (repro) 400-4 switchgear has been fitted. All remaining original gauges, headlight etc. will be included in the sale. A fun yet nostalgic bike to ride and could be the perfect base for a concourse build. |
