Honda CBX1000 1979

1979 CBX1000. This is a genuine UK market spec and has all the relative features with only 26388 miles on the clock, this has not been imported from Europe or America etc. The bike has spent the majority of its life sat in a home workshop and has never been restored.

It's all there and is ready to be used as is or if you really want a full strip down and re build. Currently sporting an excellent set of period Jama exhaust and down pipes which are almost identical to the originals (i do have the originals which can go with the bike but are rusty).

The engine starts runs and ticks over although it dos smoke on start up due to valve stems. See a start up video from cold attached. The smoke dose start to clear when warm.  The carbs have been striped and cleaned. The tank is absolutely dent free and is clean and rust free inside.

The fork stanchions have very minimal pitting all of which is above the bottom yoke and there is none where they travel through the fork oil seals, the rear dampers are free from pitting also.

The tyres have plenty of tread, however a new set is well over due as the ones on it have plenty of age on their back despite no cracking and holding air. The seat has a couple of cracks which I've uploaded pictures of in the listing.

The bike has never been down the road on its side, there is absolutely no damage to the engine fins, no damage to the cam covers or the bottom end, no nasty gouging or scrapes.
